Your Stardock.net account is used here by the forums, in Stardock Central, on other Stardock sites, and also to manage your Metaverse characters.  "One account to rule them all."

Your account can have up to THREE characters tied to it.  Most people will have only 1 but this way, if you have multiple people in your family playing the game (my son plays for instance) they can use a character. 

If you've already pre-loaded, you should be able to go to the Metaverse and Manager Characters.  You will need your serial # to create another character.

If you have any problems, let us know.

Same here. Maybe we can't use the interim serial that comes with the email if you pre-ordered?

The message I got is "invalid serial number, or the serial hasn't been activated".

Same here. Ordered via TGN, pre-downloaded last week but can't get the character creation in the Metaverse to cooperate (copy-and-paste from SDC should work, right?). Must be them aliens again.

Just gonna add my name to the long list of "same here"s. I'm trying to use a temporary serial # though, so that might be it.

Oh oh oh. Me too! I don't have a temp. key, however.

I also noticed that submitting the form without a serial number at all complains about invalid characters in the user name. I somewhat suspect the problem might just be load from the 10x GalCiv gamers all trying to get as ready as possible for the game.

Quick Question:
Will their be a wipe of Metaverse scores today or will the gamma-testers keep their advantage?

I hope they wipe the Metaverse. I was a beta tester but was never a part of the gamma test. I had a previous post about 2 weeks ago and the official reply was that it would be cleared but so far it has not.

As of right now the plan is to clear all game data. If you created characters or empires, or joined an empire, that data will remain intact. I will post an update on this thread if this is to change.

I've also forwarded the concerns and questions over the serial numbers to the proper guy.

Well, I managed to create a character, about a week ago. But I had a totalgaming.net serial number.

But after the character was created, I tried to submit a game but it didn't work. I assumed it was because I was playing the beta.

I too remember reading that they would wipe the metaverse.

Ooops, one of the developers commented out some code during testing and forgot to uncomment it.     Character Creation has been updated and should be working again.

Character creation is borked big time.

I have some character named "Hetz" showing on my account, and it won't let me edit my own character.

Something about trying to convert an undefined variable to an integer.

Just tried for the first time and it worked great, so that fix did what it needed to. Uploaded a (massively shrunk) pick of the Ghost Head Nebula for my character's symbol (same as my account pic), and my stats all show up (at 0s of course).

I'm having the same problem as "Heavens Door"... I can't get past the "processing data" bit. I'll try using my roommate's copy of IE6 later. (Currently using Opera 8.5.1.)

Looks like it is working now. Got my character on my account now, and uploaded a png just fine.

Had the same problem with Opera (same version); it worked fine for me as well after switching to IE.

I just created a character, went to upload an image and suddenly my character was someone else's
Checking my profile here on the forum it's fine and lists the character I made.
But accessing edit my characters on the Metaverse presents me with the same different character, Raute.

Same endless "processing data" problem here with Firefox. Does the Metaverse only work with IE?
