Ship Building and combat

Hello, I already know I'm gonna love this game. There is just two questions that I do wonder about. I guess maybe somebody else asked the questions before, but went through most of the posts and couldn't find an answer, so here goes:

When you build ships, can u build more that one ship per turn per planet? If I take exemple on Master Of Orion 1, on an industrious planet, u could build 2, 3 ,5, 10 + ships per turn, depending of the size, model and technology. This made fleet construction a real appeal cause you could have battles between thousands and thousands of ships.

And also, are the ship to ship combat on a tactical level (Aka MOO and Space Empires) or are they instant battles like in the first installement of galactic civ?

As far as I know: No you can not make more than one ship per turn per planet. It's not needed, really. The ships are supposed to be more Star Trek-like, as in you have less but each is more important. Besides the cosmetics it's not that different in terms of gameplay, though it may be easier to manage.

There is no tactical level combat. The developers went the Civ route again, citing how tactical battles tend to take over games because they take too much time out of the larger game, and that tactical combat AI (your own and the enemy's) tends to bite.

You should really try reading the other posts. The tactical combat horse is almost beaten as badly as the multiplayer horse. They are actually conducting a poll on tactical combat now. The developer has never had any desire to make the game tactical and good riddance to tactical rubbish.

As far as more than one ship per turn, not unless you are building the ship on more than one planet and they get dont on the same turn. I dont remember ever being able to make more than one ship per turn in MOO either.

A poll? Like which horse has been beaten the most? LoL j/k

There is fleet battles, the computer controls the ships and my own opinion is it's one of the coolest additons to the game.
So you get to watch some eye-candy battles. It's not instant but you can speed up the movie camera.
