First of all, he says the thing about Republicans all being crooks and whatnot. That didn't actually bug me that much, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Then I saw him again today and said something about all the negativity the Bush campaign has created towards him. I've only seen Bush ads that are pro Bush, I've never seen any anti Kerry. Bush called to congratulate Kerry after he became the presumed Democratic candidate. Republicans have said negative things about Kerry, but Kerry himself has said plenty negative about Bush. The whole democratic campaign so far has been nothing but anti Bush. I really don't understand where Kerry is getting his they are being very negative because "thats what they do" thing from.

Oh well, I should vote for Kerry because even if he doesn't agree with me on certain issues now....he will next week

The fact is, Kerry is trying to grab some steam from the Dean campaign, which started excellent and then went KABAM at the last second. However, Kerry is not making the same mistakes as Dean. For one, he did not make a "Yeaaaaaaaargh!" speech, secondly, he actually has proposals, rather than just attacks on Bush's policies, and finally, he is not firing the campaign manager who did everything for him. Add that to a lot of political experience and a Vietnam War veteran's understanding of war, and you have a very viable candidate. Kerry might be running on an anti-Bush campaign now, but by August he'll be promoting his own policies, touting his own experience, and listening to his own supporters.

Oh, and in a slightly offtopic bit, GOP will be eating Kerry with a massive smear campaign by August as well.

I know that by august it will be negative on both sides. I was just wondering why Kerry was accusing Bush of being negative when SO FAR Bush has been nothing but the exact opposite. I know this happens on both sides but just as a recent observation I've noticed that democrats say Bush has done or said something when it is any Republican who might have said it, and at the same time they are getting angry because Republicans have implied something a Democrat has said was basically labelled as something Kerry has done. This just shows how hypocritical both sides are.

It'll take Kerry until August to finally decide where he should stop on issues....he will have a hard time learning that when so many people are watching him he won't be able to flip flop quite as much.

I'd hate to be the only one posting in my thread but it seems to me Kerry is getting close to Howard Deaning himself. Dr. Dean liked to carelessly make comments just like Kerry did the other day.

Bush has made a bunch of negative comments about Kerry and flip-flopping. Also he's attacked Kerry's senate record--remember Bush's comments about the "deeply irresponsible" 1995 intelligence bill? And as you say, other Republicans have attacked Kerry, many of whom probably have Bush's approval or at least consent. He is party leader, after all. (This was the pattern during the 2000 election, after all--he'd leave a lot of the negativity to other Republicans.) So far, there's been more negativity toward Bush from Kerry than the reverse, but that's only because Bush hasn't been campaigning until relatively recently so he hasn't had time to build up a record of negativity. If you look at the RNC web site there are already some pretty nasty attacks.

I've only seen Bush ads that are pro Bush, I've never seen any anti Kerry


Supposedly the first anti-Kerry ads will air tonight.

I will admit, Bush did make the joke about kerry flip flopping, and there was the thing about the "deeply irresponsible", I forgot them. I stand corrected.
