What kind of card do you have aimzzz? Mine supports per-pixel alpha blending and constant alpha blending acceleration according to the performance advice and WindowFX is fully supported by the drivers.

I have an ATI 9600 SE with the latest Catalyst drivers-- a recent gift from someone who couldn't use it (lucky me!)

I just changed the WB to Dreamland, which has a good bit of window border translucency, & still see no problem with the CursorXP config dialog. Also no problem with the Startup & Systray checkboxes discussed in another thread...

I have a NVidia GeForce 5500. I changed from ATI because supposedly NVidia supports Open GL better and I have a couple of programs that use it. Can't have one that does everything I guess.

I was lucky. If I had researched to buy a card, I'm not sure what I would have gotten, but I couldn't afford one now. So far, it's been a wonderful gift. My 6-year-old ATI couldn't do anything like this...

Animations - I do not want windows to animate.

With animation on, I get Magic7's pic.
With animation off, I get Aimzzz' pic.

Well my bad-- I checked late yesterday afternoon & nothing new was showing. This afternoon they were there. I didn't look at the date-- just clicked install. Thought they were new today...

Did you install them yesterday?

A little self-flagellation may be in order here...

I updated just prior to my posting...wanted to see if I got the same effects. Saw Stoneblue's post about WFX being updated.

I'm using NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X
driver version is 6.14.10.4523(45.23)

hmmmm...probably should update...but have seen too many posts about other probs with updated drivers & an update would be about 20mb on dialup

self-flagellation for who

The window borders show fine but the window is too small

I turned off the window animations and that does clear up the problem. Now if someone has figured out System Settings that would be cool. More updates please. Updates are almost as good as a great looking skin. I was getting all twitchy waiting for Neal and the gang to get caught up. Nice to have WindowFX back.
