Politics usually didn't concern me that much. I guess as I get older either it does, or I just have more time to pay attention to them now. In asking some friends who they will be voting for and why I have come to a conclution possibly. With the current election at hand and the political posturing going on between the Dems and the current sitting President, I've noticed that the candidates beliefs aren't that far appart. With the recent news of W's budjet including the Medicare increase and the Endowment for the Arts increase among some other things, he is tending to lean more to the left on his domestic policies. I assume to attract some Democratic voters or at least more of the Moderates. At anyrate, I am hearing people say that they are unhappy with the Pres. but don't like who they have to choose from. Most just say that they are undecided. My point being that should politicians continue to "ride the fence" on their beliefs to attract voters from "both sides", pretty soon people will be electing officials on other things like, looks, speaking abilities, family name, history of being in politics,(not nessessarily meaning voting records, but just expierence), instead of their core beliefs. Should this take place, we'll be changing Presidents evey 4 years, going by the current style, and their ability to attract the biggest voting groups. Lord forbid if we were to become informed and go on their records in office, assuming they have spent time in a particular office of some sort. This could make President Clinton the last 2 term President. Just a thought, I'll opine on another aspect to this later. As for now my travel trailer is calling me to go to the lake for the weekend and contimplate some more, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
