I agree with all of the comments of "learning from our mistakes" and "making the system better", what I vehemently disagree with is whining and carping that this election was in some way "stolen" or the results are illegitimate or fraudulent.
Can the system be made better? Yes.
Should it be made better? Yes.
Are people entitled to encourage change and improvement? You betcha!
Would having touchscreen devices and/or some uniform type of voting machines/systems throughout the nation help? For my thinking yes.
Should those devices all offer a printed confirmation of the vote that is being tabulated/recorded be required? In my opinion yes, as long as there is a way to do it that maintains anonymity of the voter.
Again, there are areas where things can be improved, but carping about it by creating a blog screaming "Bush Illegally Steals Another Election, This Time Goes Hi-Tech...." isn't gonna help. And in my world, if you don't want to help but do want to scream, then you are not part of the solution and you should find an exit.
