Typical Republican pretending to be a libertarian
Only thing by this moron I wont ignore.
The reason I am a libertarian (who votes republican out of necessity) is:
1. Abortion: Should be legal, government should not be telling people what to do on such an issue. Even though I personally am celibate to prevent accidental pregnancy and murder of my unborn child (since men have no say in that in the USA). I would abort a retarded/autistic child though. And no, I don't believe in souls, I am an atheist. However I am also a biologist and knows when life begins (and sentience is acquired months to years after birth but we don't allow killing newborns...).
2. Gays: While I loathe their so called "gay culture" (as I do so many nasty subcultures), we cannot have a case where the government is taking away people's rights. (although those exact rights as presented by the gay community is often false due to them being ignorant of the law, most typically given example that is false is hospital visitation... its deciding what to do for a mentally incapacitated loved one that is determined by spouse. Visitation is open to ALL PEOPLE).
Anyways, denying equal legal status is not acceptable. The counter claims are much bigotry and a few valid points. Those valid points can be addressed by making the government get out of the marriage business entirely (civil unions for EVERYONE.. marriage is between you and your spouse and MAYBE church if you decide to involve one). All laws must treat civil unions to be equal to marriage.
It should be noted that democrats pay lip service to the gay community but their party platform opposes gay marriage, obama flip flops on it, and despite complete control over government and doing whatever they please they have passed many destructive laws and yet did not legalize gay marriage.
Also don't ask don't tell was passed a democrat law not a republican one.
I do not approve of people
3. Drugs: I had never done any drugs, I never even smoked a cigarette... although I did try alcohol and coffee to my shame, I abstain from both now... excepting cooking alcohol in food that is. The war on drugs is a travesty and an affront to a free society. You cannot make it a crime for a person to consume something.
Furthermore there are other severe issues. Namely that it funds terrorists and organized crime cartels.
Most importantly, people who need help are not getting it because their disease is criminalized, I know how it is to lose someone to drugs, a good friend of mine in Highschool died from overdose, he was driven to drugs by his abusive parents... People need help when they are on drugs and they cannot properly request it when mere possession is a crime and they fear of going to prison for it.
4. other issues (only so much I can write). I would never vote for ron paul though because the guy is delusional and his foreign policy is disastrous. Disarming the military is suicide.
