How to unlock locked candidates original Political Machine?

I know there was a way to do this involving a file in the original 2004 game so that you could unlock the candidates without having to go through the campaign. Anyone remember what it was?

Go to My Documents/My Games/PolMachine2008/Prefs

Then edit the DemCampaignSlot and RepCampaignSlot lines to =1 not =0

Still fun to play through the campaigns though.
