Out Of Scan Range

I just bought the cd version of the game from a friend (he never wanted it and had not installed it yet) and i got the the game installed and running.  When i got into the game I noticed it was lagging some.  I got into the options and changed the resolution to help game performance, and it said that to initiate the changes i had to restart the game.  When i tried to start the game back up again, it went to a black screen (sound still worked) and there was a blue box that said "out of scan range."  The only thing that i could think of was that it was a widescreen resolution and I have a regular moniter.  I tried re-installing it but that didn't work.  Does anyone know what I could do to fix this?

First, I would go into my documents/my games/pm2008 and remove (or rename) your prefs.ini file.

Second, what was the new monitor set at?  We have a minimum requirement of 1024x768, but if your game is allowing for smaller resolutions, then it's a bug we'll have to fix.
