Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

The light at the end of the crunch time tunnel

This week we should be relatively feature complete for The Political Machine 2008. We're pretty happy with how it's turning out.  The first edition we did was a pretty good game, but it wasn't really well polished and its replayability was limited (it was hard coded to 1 map with one set of data).  The 2008 edition is just so much better in every way.  I'll be glad to take Memorial Day off and so will the team. It's been a pretty rough month for all of us.  I'll also be happy to get to spend some time on GalCiv.  There's a number of tweaks and changes I want to put in there such as the research cost algorithms and I still want to release the expanded new manual.

Good to hear that development on The Political Machine 2008 is going well. It looks like a pretty interesting game.

Hope to hear some news on your turn-based Fantasy strategy game soon.

Waiting as patiently as I can for the latest version of Political Machine to hit.  I'm looking forward to playing it as soon as I can get my hands on it

Glad things are going well. Is the intention to release a Political Machine beta, or are you guys just going straight to release? Any idea of the dates involved?

The only pity with the Political Machine is that it seems to end where it should really have started: when you become President. It would have been so cool to play one of the major powers in today's world and create an alternative history/future! There was a recent try for such a game (Mission President, I think) but unfortunately it got bashed in the reviews as crap not living up to the good idea. The Political Machine also seems completely US centric. Personally I find foreign policy conflicts more interesting in a game than licking up to various domestic interest groups, from farmers to Intelligent Designers, no matter the country.

I'll probably get it after I see a review and play the demo.

Normally I'd trust stardock but in this case It's not the sort of game I usually play. Or have ever played.
