(I can't believe this is my 201st article. No one read my 200th, which I thought was funny (except you, Maso. You're cool) but here's another funny one. Better get more comments, dammit.)
Most of what I got for Christmas was not a surprise - they were either things I had asked for or obvious gifts.
However, Mom gave me one present that was the funniest, most pleasant surprise of the whole morning (with the exception of BlueDev's purchase of Object Dock + for me - yay for tabbed docks and flyout menus!) was a "Countdown to Out of Office" calendar, that tells me every day how many days are left until Christmas . . . er, the end of President Bush's "Reign of Terror".
Also, every day there is a wondrous quote from our illustrious leader. I'd like to share some of the gems so far.
"It's actually past seven in the evening here so we're actually in different time lines."
--Washington D.C., January 2001
"I believe we are called to do the hard work to mak our communities and quality of life a better place."
--Collinsville, Illinois, January 2006
"Who could have possibly envisioned an erection - an election - in Iraq at this point in history?"
--Washington D.C., January 10, 2006
"The California crunch really is the result of not enough power-generating plants and then not enough power to power the power of generating plants."
--The New York Times, January 14, 2001
"We need to apply twenty-first century information technology to the healthcare field. We need to have our medical records put on the I.T."
--Collinsville, Illinois, January 2006
Hail to the Chief, baby.
Only 371 days left.
