The 1st "Official" Informal JU Presidential Poll

For the '08 election season

Well since the '08 is making the news more and more I thought it was time (and might be fun) to have the first "official" informal Presidential poll here on JoeUser.

List the Presidential candidate you would vote for if the election was held today.  Give a brief statement why you would vote for this person today.

Republican candidates:

Sam Brownback
Rudy Giuliani
Mike Huckabee
Duncan Hunter
John McCain
Ron Paul
Mitt Romney
Tom Tancredo

Democrat candidates:

Joe Biden
Hillary Clinton
Chris Dodd
John Edwards
Mike Gravel
Dennis Kucinich
Barack Obama
Bill Richardson

I'd like to wait until he actually shows up in a debate first though.

Does leno count?

I agree. Right now, I would say that the Republican Nomination is Thompson's to lose. I agree with about 75% of what he stands for, and like him as a person. But his campaigning and promises will either make me a solid supporter - or a voter looking for a new candidate.

Sad thing is, given the current administrations approval rating the Democrats have an opportunity to get back the white house by a landslide. But sorry to say, Hillary then Obama probably have the best chances of winning the nomination, and both have next to zero chance of pulling a national election. To think for even a moment that anyone who voted for George in the last election would vote for either of these two in the next election is a preposterous notion. Democrats in this country want such radical change from Bush that they see this as perfectly plausible that a woman or a minority can follow up, that anyone can win and it's their big chance for an historic event. The reality is that neither of these candidates has a snowballs chance in hell of pulling a southern or midwestern state, or any '04 red state for that matter. Frankly these two need a reality check and if they really wanted to support their parties interest they would both bow out. Both are more than capable of winning a democratic nomination, but in a general election, I doubt either could even pull their own state.

Oh, and by the way Sk0rp10... Who do you think is going to beat a Democratic candidate??? Rudy Giuliani - whose only political experience is as Mayor? Please... Bush and his bunch of arrogant, ignorant sidekicks have screwed this country up so bad there is no WAY a Republican is going to win in '08.

You are entitled to your opinion, but your choice of a candidate indicates you dont think much and parrot a lot.
